And….we're back.
We spent the extended weekend in Las Vegas celebrating Pop Pop's birthday, and what a celebration it was!
Las Vegas is not a city that comes to mind when you think of an almost 10 month old, but maybe you should. Sunny was far from the only baby on the strip and yes she LOVED the casinos! The lights, the action, the smell of stale cigarette smoke and fresh oxygen…ahhhhh.
We spent most of our time visiting with family and close friends who flew in to help Pop Pop celebrate in style. It was wonderful to see my Dad so happy and spending time shopping and at the pool in the sunshine with our Sunshine girl is how I wish life was always.
Our brand new camera, which we schlepped all the way from NYC to Vegas, broke. We still don't know what happened or how it happened, but it broke. Grrrrr. Why do we have these camera/photo issues? So I'm waiting on my Dad to send some more fun Vegas pics from his camera, becuase mine are ( no surprise) stinky! We stayed at the Bellagio Hotel, the prettiest little hotel in the whole world ( thanks again Nana and Pop Pop!) I'm a sucker for those darn fountains. I can not tell you what it's like to see them shine and sing in the wee hours of the night. The routines were amazing and I hope I get to see them once every three or four years just for good measure.
We decided that there is no reason to ever leave the Bellagio, EVER.
We miss our family so much and thank them immensely for a beautiful vacation.I don't know how heaven works but I hope it feels a lot like this weekend did. Relaxing, laughing, happy, family time all of the time. AND if they could throw in frozen cocktails, delicious turkey burgers, and long walks to Starbucks, I can guarantee I'll never leave 🙂
