What Type of Photographer Are You?
When you are a photographer you are often asked, what TYPE of photographer are you? For some that is a really easy question to answer and for other’s it’s a bit more complicated. I fall into the category of a bit more complicated though, I like to the think of myself as more of an umbrella photographer.
I am a newborn & family photographer. That is the category that I fit into. However that category covers a lot of ground. I am a maternity photographer, newborn photographer, children’s photographer, cake smash photographer, family photographer, headshot photographer, and occasionally I am an event photographer too!
Having my own studio really helps to make sure that I can accommodate all of these different types of sessions. In the studio I can photograph headshots on a plain papered backdrop OR I can create a themed cake smash set. The studio is my canvas and usually my first choice for consistent results.
This past year I created Little School Stories Photography, where I specialize in modern school photos. What I have learned over the many years I have been doing this is that, my passion is working with children and I can bring my studio set up into schools and take spectacular portraits of the students.
I have pivoted many times in my career, but I have never gotten away from the art of photography. I have perfected what I would claim as my style. I have grown so much in this medium and I am so grateful to be here, in this space, creating masterpieces and capturing the NOW of it all.
