This weekend was unexpectedly awesome.
On Friday evening I got a text from my friend Moefred, inviting me to go to concert Radio City Music Hall.
Freddie’s text read: Hey in town, long story, have an extra ticket to see Robyn, want to go?
My response: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Whose Robyn?
Truth is it didn’t matter who Robyn was, I was going to that concert, leaving this house without my baby, and hitting the city after 8pm- Look out Manhattan!
For the record Robyn, is ridiculously fantastic! Freddie’s 8 year old niece knew every single word to every single song and predicted what the encore would be. When I asked her was this her first concert she said “No, my Auntie Moe takes me all the time!” My friend Moe is a wonderful person and the most fun Auntie I can imagine having. She is all heart and energy, a small package with the biggest personality you can imagine. She’s the closest I’ll ever get to P-Diddy, a rockstar friend and Auntie- I pray Sunny gets a friend like Moe- everyone deserves a friend like Moe.
Sunday morning I woke up playing all Robyn all the time. I feel a little silly for not knowing Robyn before Saturday night, because now I love her and feel like we’re best friends and I can’t believe I was lucky enough to see her LIVE. Sunny and I play Dancehall Queen and Dancing On My Own, like they are going out of style! But it’s this little diddy that I’m actively trying to learn all the words too…..
Did you watch the video? Do you love this song? AHHHHHH I LOVE IT!
Bucket List Item #1- Go to a concert where you don’t know the artist and don’t know any of the words- it’s invigorating! Thank you Moe!
Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday and we had a party- we didn’t mean to and we weren’t trying to but it just sort of happened. I’m so glad that it happened. There were friends and babies and uncles and sausages and mac and cheese and a phenomenal 7 layer dip, among other deliciousness.
We taught Sunny how to “dip” her food. For instance she dips her french fries in ketchup- and we always say Dippy Dippy, and then she dips! ( We learned this from my niece The Goose) Anyway last night I had placed chips and salsa and veggies and ranch dressing in two different platters I was being the hostesses with the most-est so I didn’t see Sunny picking up cucumbers dipping them in dressing and then sucking the dressing off of the cucumber and putting it back in the platter- with all of the clean cucumbers! When I caught her red handed she turned to me and says “Dippy!”
And finally, we have one last report from this weekend. SUNNY WALKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay I know I posted that here once before but this time I mean it! She was about 90% crawling and 10% walking and now she’s 90%walking and 10% crawling! When we got home from the farm on Saturday I put her down in the doorway and she just walked away- like she’s been doing it for years.
I’m so proud of my Sunshine girl who is the happiest, smiliest, giggliest, little giant you’ll ever ever meet 🙂
My weekend was divine, a cure for the S.A.D. I’ve been experiencing. Everyone from my Mother In Law to my cousin have sent me S.A.D. remedies! Next post I’ll share these with you guys who might too be suffering with the winter blues too.
