It might be impossible to summarize this year into a few photos or sentences or even one word- then again the best part about having a blog is that I’ve told every story and shared every thought. I have nearly no words left, here in the last hours of 2013, except for this one, love. I’ll always make room for love.
This was the year of love; they are all the year of love. So much has changed and while that change is good, I am constantly wondering where time went, how it escaped, and what I was doing while my children were growing.
To hold Sunny now is so odd. She is suddenly all limps and torso. No longer a baby, certainly not a toddler, she is a kid. This tiny emotional explosion of a child- our Sunny has grown up so big and so mature and so “Sunny” this year. Saint. Still cute as a button and completely edible- he has traded in his hopping for walking, his babyhood for toddlerhood, his grin and drolly smile for teeth and dimples. That bald baby who nursed and sat silently next to me and in my ergo is now this walking talking tiny tornado of giggles and boy.
Oh, and Matt & I, we have changed too. We’re now savvy DIYer’s with more of everything (love, knowledge, promises, and gray hairs) and because we are human we’ve got less of everything too ( time, energy, and patience). This was the year I was reminded that every day is a gift and no there was no death, there was a best friend who moved away, and another that got married, and so many more who had babies of their own.
This was the year of weekend beach trips, a kitchen reno, and a business that found it’s wings.
This was the year of good and plenty of good.
2013 will be a year that will fade in number just like the ones before it, but before we go here is our year end review.
