Hola Amigos!
I hope everyone had a beautiful 4th weekend. We sure did!
Sunday we joined our city friends Lissa and Eric and their adorable twins for some fun in the sun. Lissa is a brave Mama who has discovered and explored some of the best parks in the city. We followed them over to Battery Park City ( all the way downtown and west, near the WTC) where there is this awesome sandbox pit and water park. Sunny is too little to take part in the water features but she loved the sandbox!
We had lunch on the river, and watched the sailboats go by. Let me rephrase that… Lissa fed the twins, then never got to eat a bite of her food, because she was pulling them out of their high chairs to get them ice cream and later retured to announce that it was nap time and therefore time to go. She's a great Mama, I have no idea how she does what she does with two! They are so well behaved that they make Sunny look hyper!
We then met up with My Aunt Angie and My Uncle Larry, who were visiting from Chicago. It was great to see them and spend some time with them. I wish they lived closer and could spend much more time giggling with Sunny.
Sunday ended with fireworks on the Guncles roof top. Sunny was fine with the fireworks until they started getting closer and louder, and then we made our way to the exit. This is not my picture, we could barely see them, but apparently they were beautiful.
Monday, we started our day nice and early with some grocery shopping, a quick trip to Ikea, and a BBQ with our friend Jenny and the Guncles. Matt spent much of his afternoon blowing up Sunny's new baby pool, and firing up the grill.
Note Sunny's crossed ankles and belly rolls! She's pure baby deliciousness, if I do say so myself.
All in all it was a wonderful holiday weekend. Hope yours was perfect too.
