Today will be my first workout since giving birth about one year ago. Oh, don’t judge me people, I’ve been plenty busy…just not busy in the gym.
It’s hard to get away to the gym when you don’t have a full time Nanny or a husband who works normal hours. Heck, its hard to get to the gym when you do have those things, right? Thankfully the YMCA in Park Slope offers 6 hours (per week) free babysitting! Today Sunny will be spending one hour in the Y daycare while I workout. Mind you Sunny woke up at 4:30 this morning and I have been up with her ever since, so if I get on the machines and actually petal that will be a miracle in itself. I might sneak off to the yoga studio, pull out a mat, and sleep for one blissful hour. (Personally I think its a full workout just to get to the car.)
The only thing is you can’t leave the Y. You have to stay because if your child starts to cry or needs to be fed they will come and find you and make you feed or rock them. And y’all know my baby can eat and is always hungry! But can you imagine how many Mamas and Papas would go grab coffee and a muffin and come back in an hour? (Is anyone else raising their hand?)
Speaking of coffee I got to spend the whole day ( between tot classes) with my friend Jill and her daughter Fia, yesterday. It was wonderful to talk about business and brands while the babies slept. We shared a cookie and drank lattes and it was heavenly. Today is little Fia’s 1st Birthday and we’ll be helping her celebrate with cupcakes and pizza. I’m so grateful for good friends who remind me that I am more than Sunny’s Mama. How very necessary. Check out Jill’s show My First Baby here and her website here.
This week started the count down to Sunny’s 1st birthday. Lets celebrate with a little video. The link below shows Sunny with her best buddy Ethan. Sunny and E where born the same day in the same hospital and spent the first 2 nights of their life together. Here they are this summer at 7 months old…
