Sunny is teething.
Last night I thought I felt the sharp sting of one tiny baby tooth peaking above the surface. I asked Matt to shove his finger in her mouth and confirm that Sunny does in fact have a tiny tooth emerging. The conclusion? Our baby is sprouting her first tooth.
The issue? It's in the weirdest position possible. It's not the traditional center bottom tooth ( the center incisor). It's not even the lesser known but equally as cute middle upper tooth. What is it you ask? It is her left bottom incisor.
I love my Sunny but from the beginning she has been challenged with bad genetics ( and Matt & I feel so bad about this). She came out swollen and bruised ( it was a rough labor on both of us)! She was also basically bald, in fact bald would have been a blessing. She had a little speck of hair on the top of her head, a situation that gave way to many innocent jokes referring to her hair line as a "comb over." And as if that wasn't enough my Sunny was nearly 9 lbs of love! A fact that had the hospital staff referring to her as the "little moose."
Sigh.
As my Mother often points out, with time she shed the baby puffiness, and grew a few cutie pie curls. She's really a knock out!
But now, NOW my poor Sunny girl must endure this too! A far left first tooth!!! Oh my sunshine girl…
