And….we're back! Just like that my time with my friends has come to an end, and Sunny and I have made our way back to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Well ok, Brooklyn but you get the idea.
We stayed with my bestest friend Erin, she is my oldest friend and recently purchased her first home in Lincoln Park. To say that it is stunning is an understatement.
It is, in a word, magnificent.
I had many fantasies of living there with her cat Bella, listening to music, reading her home & cooking magazines, and waving to her neighbors from her over sized windows. Instead I spent much of my time in her (AMAZING) bathroom spreading lotions, perfumes, body washes, sea salts, and conditioners all over my body. If I could have, I would have stayed in there forever. Do you have a friend like this? One that owns everything you've never bothered to buy? I have Erin and I'm so grateful 🙂
My girlfriend Susan was in town for a wedding. In real life she lives
in Indiana with her hubby and puppy, but in my world she still lives in
Chicago where she has bunch with me at Frances and keeps Sunny busy so
that I can eat. She's kind of already a better Mother than I am,
pointing out necessities such as sunscreen and teething rings. I've
never been much for the details…
Sunny and I lived the life there in Chicago. We visited with Andrea & Michael. Andrea is a bit obsessed with tu-tu's and has bought Sunny many of them. This was the most recent purchase.
Andrea & Michael have become a unit in my mind. They've been married for about 4 years and are the kindest, most caring, giving, loving, and beautiful couple I know. When I was single I wanted to grow up and be in a marriage just like theirs. I hope Sunny takes notes when she is around them; I hope someday she marries a gentleman like Andrea and I did.
In the midst of all of our weekend fun my friend Moefred turned 30. Friday night she celebrated with an all white party. Moe is obsessed with the color white, she buys everything in white, so it was fitting that every guest at her party was asked to wear white. FYI when an entire party wears nothing but white everyone looks like they're glowing. And just so you know there was also all white pizza, subs, liquids, and drinks!
We spent most of Saturday having brunch, buying matching cowgirl boots and having a BBQ at Erin's.
Lucky for us Michael grilled and we watched. Check out shots of Erin's deck below…the fabulousness of her place doesn't end, it just continues….
On Sunday we met up at Nora's parents home to visit with her family and little Aidan. The munchkins played while we talked. Nora's parents went out of their way to create a full play area for Aidan and he generously allowed Sunny to play with his toys.
Tricia had a BBQ on Sunday evening in our honor, never mind that I begged and pleaded for her to host it. I brought Sunny, and the girls did EVERYTHING. ( Michael grilled again…poor Michael) and it was fabulous. Tricia has toys galore and helped create this set up for Sunny.
I truly have the greatest most amazing friends in the entire world. My heart is so full and my mind is slowly trying to figure out why I jumped that plane to come home to NYC. I do love NY, it is my city, and is where we will raise our Sunshine girl…but Chicago is my home and my heart. I hope Sunny enjoyed our visit and all of her fairy Godmothers. A giant thank you to Tricia, Andrea, Moefred, Heather, Susan, Nora, and of course Erin & Bella, how wide you make me smile, how blessed you make me feel.
