SHE’S CRAWLING…SORT OF
September 10, 2010 By  admin With  0 Comment
In  Sunny

So we went on a play date to the Brooklyn Zoo with our friend Courtney and her son Teddy on Wednesday. Slightly uneventful except for the fact that when we got home Sunny ate the biggest lunch ever. She had a half of a boiled egg, a piece of quinoa whole wheat toast, a piece of cheddar cheese and some grapes, a lot right? Then I put my little eater on the family room rug and she crawled. For no reason at all, and without warning Sunny just started crawling like she's been meaning to do that for weeks. She crawled from one side of the rug to the other, around the kitchen, and in her play area. She also, and brace yourself, pulled up on a chair, on the bars of her play area, and the oven ( no it wasn't on). I mean really? That's it, now you crawl?

This is SOOOOO Sunny. Behind that little head is a brain who is working on so many little projects. I bet you anything that she can talk too! She probably can say "Mommy I'd like some more water please and purhaps a cup of tea with lemon." But becuase she's Sunny and must make me beg, plead, and hold my breath to do anything in a timely fashion, she just keeps it all to herself because she likes to see me sweat.

Is this the difference between boys and girls? Is this what they mean? I find my friends with boys have a very straight forward relationship. The want to move, so they crawl. Their hungry so they eat. However life with my girl is more complex. It's a delicate balance of thinking, considering, then maybe at some point doing. She is so interesting to watch. She's a perfectionist like her Father, a quality that will drive us to the edge of disaster when she's all grown up and we're planning her wedding one day. She is calm, easily entertained, and extremely empathetic. I am having the time of my life learning Sunny.
