Sunny and I have made a new friend.
We met our new friends a few weeks ago. They moved on our block, the Mom was walking with a baby and a dog. I introduced myself, our kids are 10 days apart, they're from the Bay Area. The Mom is stunning, the baby is beautiful, they also happen to be sweet, super friendly, and possibly my new best Mommy/baby friends. I thought nothing could ever divide us…until she told me that her (almost) 10 month old is potty training.
My mouth dropped, I know I must have looked crazy. I wonder if she could she the amazment in my eyes. She's what? Yep, potty training.

I consider myself somewhat of a free spirited/ hippie like Mama. I make my own baby/ toddler food. I shop at Farmers Markets and use clothe grocery bags. We do baby/Mama yoga, dance/movement classes, and Skpe. ( Is that Hippie?) But it never occurred to me to potty train Sunny. Nope, I can honestly say the thought never crossed my mind..until today.
According to our new friends IPT is all the rage. "You must be deligent," she tells me. "Consistant, put a timer on, and introduce the process to the baby". Apparently it's Earth friendly and not too hard to do. And a bit of an education, there are people in this world who don't have access to diapers…they IPT. Are you IPTing? I'm thinking about making that the new "it" phrase.
Mama you wanna what? Potty train? Me? Ohhhhhh MMMAAAMMMAAA you sooooo crazy!
So nuts, so crazy, so genius I might just try it. In fact I'm patiently waiting for Matt to get home so that he can drive with me to Babies R Us for an infant potty.
Sunny we can do this! We can be potty people! Of course Mommy also said that she could make your Halloween costume nd that was a big fat lie. I found the cutest costume ever, and nope she's not going to be a sheep or a puppy ( orry Chris and JC). It's a surprise and I can't wait for Halloween to unveil it to you all!
