Oh Really?

According to my friend Mother Goose, my rug post this morning was "boring." Apparently Mother Goose speaks for all of my blog readers, sorry to have bored you all.

I couldn't post this morning because Matt and I had the horrendous experience of taking Sunny for her 6 month pictures at…I almost can't say it…Sears. Please don't judge me.

We originally were going to go with a very fancy photographer, however due to a few developments such as only 24 hour to choose your photos or they would be fully deleted or else you have to pay $98.00 per day to keep them "up" and available to see on line and order from, we decided to give Sears a whirl.

Mother Goose highly recommended Sears, and so did my friend Nora. I would never have said to either of them that I enjoy artistic print worthy photos of my little one. At the time I apparently thought I was rich with a giant house in the suburbs where my servants would look at the photos and think, my God shouldn't these be in a magazine? Sadly we live in a rental in Brooklyn, with a stray cat that sits in the backyard and no servant to be found. So we like millions of other good hearted, well meaning, American parents, went to Sears.

I couldn't bring myself to look at the "Sample" photos they were so gross. Did you know I can have Sunny made into a tapestry, or a blanket?

When the "photographer" asked which background we wanted, I nearly died.
White, white, just all WHITE. Can you imagine Sunny in a bed of fake flowers?

The session started and 8 clicks of the camera later Sunny was immortalized in Sears crappy all white, bright beaming, non touched up history. We had approximately 10 minutes to choose 2 photos to have "printed." I will take this time to tell you that we are now the proud owners of 2 5×7 photos of my sunshine girl and members of something called the "super savers club."

I am well educated, my husband helps children for a living, and we are raising Sunny to love every person no matter their taste in photography. All that being said I don't mind telling you that I promptly hired a new, professional photographer who will be meeting us in Central Park in two weeks to take pictures of Sunny. She will give me as much time as I need to pick my photos and allow me to use our prints in any way I so choose.

Thank God for options.

Nana would like the center photo. I think they are all sooo cute. Then it would be difficult for such a cute girl to take a bad picture.
