A few weeks ago we met Sunny’s Godmother in the city for a very special fashion show.
To say my Sunshine Girl was thrilled is an understatement. I don’t know how many kids get to spend their Sunday on the Upper West Side with Fancy Nancy- but my kid did and she did it in full princessmode.
Meanwhile- back at the farm… we had so much fun with just Sunny in the city we decided we should go as a family the following weekend.
I approach everything from the same place of- you’ll love this, it’s awesome, this city is in your blood.
My son approaches everything from the same place too- un-impressed-ville. This kid is unimpressed by just about everything, with the exception of balls, airplanes, and corn.
Not my girl though- she’s like me- she lives for the city.
This photo was taken just down the street form where she was born, and she knows it.
It’s in her veins. It’s her kind of city- built for royals and those who strive to be royals.
And her royal brother, The Prince of New Jersey…still unimpressed and slightly annoyed at our attempts to make him “big like the empire state building.”
(That’s my kid pulling a Brittany Spears- she ditched her shoes in Central Park.)
We stopped for lunch at Joe’s Shanghai. They make the greatest soup dumplings on the planet. I spent a weird amount of both my pregnancies there slurping up dumplings and anything else they’d give me. My kids love asian food and they love Joe’s.
After Joe’s we enjoyed cupcakes from Magnolia- 2 cupcakes and $12.00 later- we had two semi-happy kids.
I’m okay with Saint being a Jersey Boy. If he wants to live with us or next door to us, the rest of his life that’s fine!
As they say you can take the boy out of Jersey but you’ll never take the Jersey out of the boy.
Wait is that the saying? Well it should be…
