Did I mention I always wanted a girl? Not just any girl…a girly girl is what I wished for and in case you haven’t heard this enough in one lifetime, be careful what you wish for.
Purses, baby dolls, bracelets, hair bows, tu-tu’s, and shoes, these few words are all you need (at the moment) to describe my daughter.
This weekend while Matt worked, we headed out to Short Hills Mall with Nora and her boys. I’m not sure how we got to this plan of taking 3 kids under two years old to a crowded mall on a Saturday but to know us is to know we will do anything to get out of the house and entertain our children ( and shop a 50% Bloomingdale’s sale).
Everything was going perfect ( as you might imagine) until we reached Nostrom’s children’s shoe department where my child HAD to have a pair of pink Crocs. I would just like to point out how ugly these shoes are and that they are $40.00- which is actually criminal. Anyway after a full 1/2 hour of begging and saying things like “Mommy I LOVEEEEEEE THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!” I caved, and she’s literally never been happier in her two years of life. in fact the next morning she told me repeatedly that she loves me so much, and that she is “proud of her shoes.” Then she asked about 100 times if we could “go more shopping.”
This pic of her and Aidan cracks me up because Aidan is as much all boy and Sunny is all girl. I’m fairly certain if we took another picture on the same bench 10 or 20 years from now they would assume the exact same positions.
On Sunday we went to Church ( if you fell over in shock I understand) and then to brunch. If you say the word church to Sunny she will repeat “Church, sing…brunch?!?” We went and food makes her this happy…
Hope your weekend was as wonderful as ours. A special thank you to Nora, who always makes my life easier and prevented Matt from getting an ear full by keeping me busy this weekend in his absence.
