FINALLY- we have photos from South Carolina. You’ll forgive the 30 plus photos below- my parents are little flash-happy.
My daughter loves to water plants. Living in Brooklyn, that’s not always an option. But in sunny South Carolina- she can water till her hearts content.
Love this next photo. Note the paint all over her arms? We are big fans of water based paint and Michael’s Craft Store.
My mother enjoys exercise. So she buys these pieces of equipment to stretch her hips- and then Sunny uses them as toys. Everybody wins!
We spent some time at a local play space on Hilton Head Island. If you are ever in the area check out The Sandbox. Fun, fun, and more fun! My Sunshine girl loved the grocery section, sand, airplane, and paints. They also had a story time were Sunny got to announce her name and who she brought with her. My little one shouted out “I Gay-Cee, and dat’s Nana!!!” My Mom has never been so excited.
Then Nana took Sunny and I to lunch at the Boat House- where they literally house boats and while you’re eating they ram them into the water with a big splash. You would think this would keep a toddlers attention.
But Sunny had SO much work to do! She was very busy on her i-pad.
Really little girl? That’s the face you make?! I mean do you see 21 months going on 21 years???
I have a dog named Dallas, that now lives with my parents. Sunny LOVES Dallas ( she calls him Lallas) anywho, Dallas had to go for a haircut and so he wasn’t home when she woke up from her nap.
She insisted that we “Go outside and get Lallas!” She brought some of their stuffed animal friends outside to await his homecoming. At some point I will do a post on how much of a tiny woman my daughter has become. She is VERY in charge and can now be found petting my back saying “You okay Mama?”
If you don’t have a little girl- please run out and get yourself one or make one ( am I not supposed to say that?). Every Mama should experience a toddler telling you to put on your lipstick, get a sweater, and no forget your keys! Like looking in a very clear mirror- it’s cleansing.
My Dad babysat one night while my Mom and Auntie went to dinner and a movie. When I called and asked if Sunny had dinner my fathers response was “yes.” I’m like…okay…what did she eat? He says “You really wanna know??” ummmm YES! He goes, “She had mint chocolate chip ice cream and crackers.” He wasn’t kidding….
My Dad also has a dream of Sunny loving IHOP as much as he does. So before we leave SC we must go for a happy face pancake.
The ride to the airport is always bittersweet. Here you can see my child melting down at the thought of leaving her Nana and Papa- and returning to Brooklyn. ( Just kidding Matt- she couldn’t wait to see you and return to the concrete jungle we call home)
Love this next photo. 3 generations of love….or crazy. Maybe both.
Parting is such sweet sorrow…is that the actual phrase? I can not tell you how many times I have gone to type something on this blog and thought, wait is that the phrase or is that just what I say because I don’t know the phrase? Then Matt calls me and says, you do know your clients read that blog and you spell everything wrong. Then he tells me I need an editor and he’s right. But no one counts on me for their daily dose of news. You read because I post 1 zillion pictures of my child and encourage bad reality tv habits! And for the record, I like the new Facebook- I’m old and can’t see so bigger pictures and the news feed makes me happy.:)
