Newborn Photography
Newborn photography can often be gifted to a Mama from a family member. I often receive emails from aunts, grandparents-to-be, husbands, wives, and friends, who want to gift an expecting mother a newborn session. The gift of photography is a gift that keeps on giving. What better way to tell someone that you love them, then by stopping time and capturing the sweetest moments forever?
This is baby Alaska. Her Aunt Karen gifted her this session and what a joy that turned out to be for me. When Alaska’s family came to the studio they brought Alaska, her sister Mia, 2 aunts, grandma, and the girls Mommy. It was a group of women just hanging out, talking, and in complete awe of the sweet beauties before us. I commented over and over how lucky Alaska and her sister are to have such strong and kind women in their corner. To me there could be nothing better than to be surrounded in love and experienced hands. Hands that had clearly helped raise one another and intend to raise these girls and someday, their girls too.
Alaska was a champ during her session. A girly girl who slept peacefully through every pose and sparkle. This head in hands pose with crown is one of my most favorite newborn images ever. We were lucky enough to get a few angles on this shot because she didn’t mind being on her belly. In my next post I’ll go through different types of head in hands poses.
Meet Alaska.
