Morning friends. I took little miss sunshine to Union Square Park yesterday for the Gazillion Bubbles Show.
I would have taken some photos of the gazillion bubbles, had I seen any. The issue with the show is that it's meant to be indoors, where once they make the bubbles, the bubbles stay put! Sadly in the hot NY air the bubbles flew West directly into the working New Yorkers territory. It ended up being a bust, no pun intended.
Sunny and Ethan couldn't see the bubbles. Sunny was much more interested in her snack and Ethan was much more interested in Sunny. Jenn and I sat there like two eager Mama's pointing into the clear blue sky, while our babies stared at anything but the flying bubbles.
This is part of being a Mother though, you will take, haul, carry, push, walk, and hike your child to any event you can if it means 10 minutes of culture, activity, or stimulation.
In better news our trip to the city was not in vein. We found a cool tent, hosted by Baby Loves Disco, and sat Ethan and Sunny down to chill out from all the excitement of the bubbles 🙂
While in there, we met two other Mother's of 6 month olds. This struck up a fantastic conversation about sleeping, strollers, and crawling. They were then joined by another member of their playgroup, and by the end of 2 hours of conversation Jenn and I were hooked. We had suddenly found our way into a playgroup full of December babies! We came to find out that these ladies were all in the same lamaze class (Jenn and I skipped lamaze classes) and try to get together once a week.
It's a bit like dating I suppose, in that we exchanged emails and I haven't written to them yet, because I don't want to seem to desperate. I don't mind telling you however, that Jenn and I are both very excited to see them again. What will we wear? Who will call first? Oh it's all so exciting.
For those of you at your jobs reading this post, please note that while I might sound pathetic and you might be slightly concerned for me, I assure you that I have not lost my mind. No emails necessary 🙂
