Yesterday was the most beautiful day of the year, and my only morning off in two weeks. I stupidly thought that combination of these two facts would automatically make my Sunshine girl happy. Stupid Mommy. I’ve been working so much lately and while it’s a blessing, it’s also very hard to leave my little girl day after day- so when there is some time to ourselves she mostly punishes me for having left her all of the days before. Case-In-Point.
And then this happened.
I reminded her that I let her wear her precious Croc shoes- she appreciated my reminder.
We finally puled it together and decided to play on the swings- but if you think she was giving up her new Hello Kitty purse you’re wrong.
People keep saying “Oh what a beautiful lunchbox.” To which my child responds “IT’S A PURSE!” Stupid people. It’s clearly a purse.
In Brooklyn we celebrate spring by welcoming back the street vendors who sell grilled corn with mayo and queso cheese sprinkled on top. My Spanish sort of…stinks…so Sunny’s corn was plain. But she loved it just the same. I somehow, gratefully, saved the day with Spanish corn.
We are up this morning at 5:00am and I was just informed there is no coffee. Baby #2 is kicking, Sunshine girl is begging for Barney, Matt just left, and I am typing to you. Coffee and you my little blog are my only friends this morning, and coffee just bailed. Stupid coffee.
