Baby Newborn Photography
When you’re expecting, you have a million different “to do’s” to check off your to-do list. If baby newborn photography isn’t at the top of your list, it should be. Many expecting parents reach out to me toward the end of the their second trimester, and we’ll book their babies newborn photography session. In the case of this little one, her Mama and I had a chance to discuss well in advance, the specific themed photographs for her daughter’s newborn session.
Baby newborn photography is often based on the shared vision between yourself and your newborn photographer. I was lucky enough to do a fully themed shoot, with the help of my awesome clients!
Meet MJ
Meet Madison Jordan, her name is a tribute to her parents favorite basketball player. Big sports fans, MJ is in for a life full of travel, sports, and so much love! I instantly fell for this little family and their extended family when I went to their home to photograph MJ’s newborn session. It’s difficult to put into words how I instantly felt welcomed into their family, but lets just say when our session was over I was kind of sad to leave them. I had a magical afternoon of posing MJ. First, with a basketball, then on her great-great grandfathers original suitcase in front of a map that her parents have marked with all the places they’ve been, and finally on the beanbag.
We were able to capture this special time by adding in some group photos and a generation photo too. Four generations of strong, smart, capable, and beautiful women on a couch adoring their newest addition. Here was this one week old baby, surrounded by all the people who love her so completely. I couldn’t help but get attached to this family. I hope I’m lucky enough to watch MJ grow up! I can’t wait to take her one year photos and size her up next to that basketball once more. Baby newborn photography isn’t just about the newborn portraits, it’s also about capturing the moments you were all together. This moment is precious, capture it well.
